Face Lifting Device – How to Firm and Tone Your Face

If you’re obsessed with your skin, you’ve likely heard of one of the many high-tech
devices claiming to lift and tone the face. Often referred to as “face workouts,” these
tools use safe low-voltage current to stimulate facial muscles and help cells
regenerate beauty products. They’re not a replacement for Botox or fillers, but they can be an easy
way to improve skin tone and boost collagen production to help soften lines and
wrinkles. The best part is, there’s a wide range of at-home face-lifting devices to
choose from.

Do microcurrent devices work? Experts weigh in
There are several different types of face lifting devices on the market, but some of
our favorites include microcurrent tools, red light therapy devices, and gua sha

tools. As a quick primer on how these tools work: “When you use a facial muscle-
stimulation device, the electrical current mimics the body’s natural current and helps

strengthen the muscle,” says Taylor Worden, celebrity esthetician and founder of
Taylor Worden Skin. “This results in a natural face-lift over time.”
The best at-home microcurrent devices feature handheld probes that are meant to
be swiped along the skin with conductive gel. Apply a layer of the included gel and
follow the device’s simple video instructions to guide it (feeling like a massager, in
most cases) across your face. It’s important to note that it can be a bit
uncomfortable or even painful if you move too quickly, so it’s recommended to work
in small strokes and start out slowly.
Another option to consider is the GESS Face Fitness, which comes with a

microcurrent brush and gel and works in tandem with an app that provides step-by-
step instructions on how to use it. It also has antishock technology and a super long

battery life, meaning you can get multiple uses out of it every day.

How to Lift and Tone Your Skin at Home With Microcurrent Devices
If you want something a little more luxurious, we love the NuFace Mini Starter Kit.
Touted as a non-surgical facelift, it’s powered by patented triple-wave technology to
firm the skin and target facial muscles. It even comes with a sample of the brand’s
signature Collagen Infusion serum to help you get started.
While the price tag on this tool may be a little higher, it’s arguably the best in its
class. It’s a smaller version of the cult-favorite NuFace Trinity and features two
hands-free conductive mask attachments for the eyes and lips. “If compliance is a
big problem for you, this makes it easier to stick with the daily routine,” says
esthetician Christina Uzzardi of Cheeks + Co.
Another budget-friendly option is the Foreo Bear, which has a similar functionality to
the GESS device but is more affordable. It’s also backed by the Foreo app and
includes an included conductive gel to ensure the best results. Just keep in mind
that you should wait a few weeks before using this type of device after getting Botox
or fillers. Also, if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, you should avoid it altogether.
